Background of the Invention TAN from a Personal Safety perspective
Sadly, incidents across the world are beckoning for increased protection for what we hold most dear. The data is usually in the palm of our hands and vigilance at the forefront of our minds.
The product was inspired by the story of Anuya Esther, a 25 year old Software Engineer at TCS from Lokmanya Tilak Rail Terminus Kurla, Mumbai, India. She had boarded the train from her home in Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh. She was She went missing on January 5, 2014never seen again, alive. Under the worst of circumstances, her body was traced by her family members, friends and locals through her last mobile signal from near the place Bhandup.
The local authorities were not equipped to trace signals or gather data.
This incident propelled us to create a solution which can help increase situation awareness, coalesce data resources into a single application and increase the security resources available in our mobile devices for routine travel to areas requiring heightened security...
The solution TAN tracker (Track Asset Now…)
All elements utilized in devising this application are already in existence in our smartphones.
This unique app takes the available feeds from our device and harnesses online monitoring servers to process proactive and precise location, status, and evidential information with direct reporting to nearest authorities as the user deems appropriate.
HOW DOES THE SOLUTION ‘TAN’ FUNCTION?
The system was devised based on a necessity stated in the paragraph above.
The solution is a mobile application security service along with an online monitoring system designed specifically to link location, media, and public security networks. This unique blend of real-time registration and monitoring offers a deeper element of safety and supervision while traveling into unknown locations and preparing for uncertain circumstances. Ease of access and design added to a high speed of correlation and alerting mechanism make this product a viable and preventative counter-tactic to modern day violent crime and natural disaster recovery.
The app uses the following elements of the smart phone or a smart device
Video
Camera
GPS
SIM
Internet
Along with a backend Web server to process information and dish out analytical reporting based on the information inputs received by the server(from the mobile app) to the concerned departments to act.
Every device or smartphone will have a unique identification number in the system.
Every user/entity/asset has to get registered within the system so that the system is in a position to identify the entity in case of need.
The entity can be a human being, living being, nonliving static asset, or a mobile nonliving asset.
Once the user/entity/asset gets registered within the system, the user/entity/asset is allocated a unique identity.
The present invention solves the problem by constantly video recording and uploading on to the online server on an ongoing basis, e.g., if one is traveling in a hired vehicle. The hired vehicle will also have the app which starts video recording the user will input the vehicle’s unique code, to enable the online server to identify in which vehicle the user is traveling.
The user can then share the location of his/her movement by sending an SMS which will have a URL to track the user’s movement with a phone no or email id,
The person receiving the message on the mail or phone can just click on the URL provided and keep track of the near/dear one.
In case of a problem the user has four options of SOS keys which is scalable and customizable from the backend server
1. Police
2. Fire
3. Medical
4. Disaster
On pressing any one of the SOS keys an alert will go across to screens of the four surrounding police stations from the location of the users, the alert may 1 or 2 or 3 or 4
All alerts will always go to the police stations.
Based on the alerts the police will track the user based on the last vehicle information.
The mobile patrol vehicles of the police, if they have a tablet, will also receive the information.
So based on the location the nearest patrol vehicle can try to trace the distress alert.
The present invention relates to an individual safety and security system based on monitoring an individual's travel and notifying a custodian of the individual, and third parties including government agencies like Police, Fire, Medical, Disaster Management, of a potentially unsafe condition of the individual. More specifically, the present invention relates to a mobile application that monitors an individual's travel, upon receiving an alert from the individual determining a potentially unsafe condition based on a kind of alert sent

That is correlated to the location of an individual; the mobile app notifies someone who can take action to help the individual. The present invention solves the problems described above by presenting a system incorporating a mobile software application (referred to herein as an "app" )that, integrates with a Cloud server Monitoring and Reporting System the app communicates via a web server in communication with the wearer's mobile device (such as a smartphone or a tablet device having cellular data service), and notifies other individuals/Government Departments (referred to herein as "custodians" and/or "third parties") to determine the actual nature of the problem and send help if appropriate. Using location information provided by the wearer's mobile device, the wearer's location is transmitted, and camera and microphone devices within the mobile device automatically record and optionally transmits video and audio at that location. The app of the present invention can be instrumental in notifying a custodian, such as a friend and/or a family member, and/or the government departments of a emergency as it is happening, giving that friend and/or family member and/or the government departments the ability to immediately contact the wearer, as well the ability to initiate a proactive response based on the situation the seeker for help is in, to be helpful in criminal investigations.
